The 3 Most Important Life Questions You Should Ask Yourself

Do you know the 3 most important life questions you should ask yourself? As a life coach who is so in love with what she does, my primary focus is to help you overcome your self-doubt and your fears (whether or not you admit you have any fears) so that you can live a happy life that you are in love with.

Today I am going to be covering the three most important life questions that you should be asking yourself. But before I dig into that, let me first ask you a few questions of my own. I want you just reflect on these questions for a minute and maybe you can share your replies with me in the comments section below.

Do you feel stressed out and that you have so much stuff you have to do in a day that by the end of your day you have very little time or energy to do the things you love to do? Or do you wonder sometimes that your life can’t just be going to a job that stresses you out and running errands you hate?

Do you sometimes think there must be something more to your life, something that fills it with more joy, inner peace, and passion? Or do you have a dream, but your inner critic (those voices in your head) tell you “forget about it” or “you have no time” or “there is no money for doing this kind of a thing, so just forget it”?

If you are asking yourself any of these kinds of questions, then you are not alone. And trust me I was there too. I want you to pat yourself on the back too for asking such questions as most people don’t take the time to stop and ask.

At the end of this blog, I will tell you how to get my Free ebook. It will help you in 5 days only to get the answers to some of these questions that I have just asked as well as help you with the 3 most important life questions.

For now, let’s dig into these important life questions! I heard Tony Robbins at Date with Destiny in Palm Springs say something that I absolutely loved. He said if you ask stupid questions, you will get stupid answers!

Here are my 3 most important life questions that you should ask yourself:

Question 1. What do you want?

Think of what is it that will make your heart really sing. Do you know what you want to do with the rest of your
life, with the coming year, with your tomorrow, now?

Question 2. Why do you want it?

That answer has to be convincing enough to YOU. You have to feel an emotional charge, some level of excitement
as you go through your ‘Whys?’

Question 3. How are you going to get it?

Now is the time for a plan. Not any kind of plan. A massive action plan. A plan that will propel you forward. There are so
many components to a plan and so many ways to do it. But what’s most important, is to Write It Down.

Oprah says that if you don’t know what you want in your life, your soul mission and your full-time occupation need to be to pause your life and find the answer to that question.

What do you want?

Finding the answer to what I want is the most critical question that you need to find answers to. In my life coaching practice in Abu Dhabi, this is one of the first things I ask my clients. What do you want I ask? They come to me with a long-winded story about all the reasons and excuses for why they are miserable and unsuccessful at reaching what they want that they can’t verbalize yet because they haven’t taken the time to ask themselves this one honest question. I ask again, what do you want? By now, exhausted from all the blabbering of their stories, they go quiet and I get the most common reply “I don’t know”.

Well if you don’t know where you’re heading, how do you live life? How would you know which direction to proceed in? How would you plan, think, or process anything? I want to get from point A to point B, but I don’t know where point B is, how am I ever going to be unstuck and take action in the direction of my choice?

This is all about finding that target, and focusing on what I really want. This is one of the most critical questions that you truly need to know the answer to. And there are so many ways to find out. There’s so much available to you for free on the Internet. Mr. Google is so good at helping you find your passions, YouTube is bursting with videos to show you how to find your life direction. The self-help section in any bookstore has shelves full of books to show you a better way to live. The point is that there are so many things that make you resourceful, powerful, and empowered so that you can find these answers for yourself. You have no excuse to say “I don’t know”.

We always have a calling. We all have a passion. And there are so many signs to help one find what it is. Only many a time, we choose not to listen. Only the very few, will do what it takes to slow down enough to listen to the signs and to understand the direction they are trying to point them towards. Once you know what your life’s work is, your whole world will come alive and more vibrant than ever before. You will wake up with so much energy and enthusiasm like never before. All of a sudden you will have no time to waste anymore and nothing else to think about!

Alright, so the second most important question is why?

So it’s important to know what you want, but if you don’t tag along with the answer to why you want it, then you’re not going to take action. There is a difference between intellectual intelligence and emotional intelligence. The twelve inches between your mind and your heart is where it’s all at. I need to be emotionally attached and emotionally invested in this one thing. This thing I decided I want in my life so that I would go through the tough days. And let me tell you this 100% true fact of life.

The tough days are gonna happen. Shit happens all the time. If I am going through a difficult time getting to something that I want and if I don’t have a strong Why, I will quit. This is why most new year’s resolutions regarding health are made around December or January; by February they are long forgotten and have faded out of awareness. New gym memberships go through the roof in January and in February, it’s only crickets! Why? Because these resolutions are not attached to something really juicy. Why do you want to lose 15kgs? Why do you want to quit smoking?

We are more inclined to take action to run away from pain rather than to run toward pleasure. So you need to be very careful with how you phrase your Why. If you know what you want right now and you just want help with phrasing the Why, please put it in the comments section or contact me and I would be more than happy to help you find your juicy why.

There’s another quote I would like to insert here. There are two most important moments in one’s life. The first one is the moment you were born and the second one is the moment you know why. Knowing why I do the work I do has pulled me through many challenges and rough times that I’ve come across. Over the last few years, it was almost like a learning curve that was less of a curve and more like a straight line going up!

Every little step that had to be done to set up my business in a place that’s still relatively new to the world of life coaching and experiential learning was a huge ordeal. Many things I simply had no clue how to do, but I knew how to figure it out, I knew who to ask, and I knew ‘why’. That ‘why’ is the most important of things to know. Without it, many times I would have just packed my bags and called it quits. My ‘why’ made me persevere and kept me moving forward.

Last but not least is the question of how.

“If you bake bread with indifference, you bake a bitter bread that feeds but half man’s hunger. And if you grudge the crushing of the grapes, your grudge distills a poison in the wine.” –Khalil Gibran

How will I get what I want?

So now if you’ve done the work, you will know what you want. Next, you will know why you want it and now the third thing you need to know is how.

Do everything you do with passion. Let it be what powers you up from the minute you get up in the morning throughout your day until the moment you fall asleep again. Shower with passion. Brush your teeth with passion.
Exercise with passion. Speak with passion. This is all about who you are Being as you go along the path to reaching your goal. You could have the noblest cause or goal, but if you are so stressed about it. Then the energy of stress is going to create more stress and more difficulties, more challenges, more hurdles, and nobody would want to work with you.

It would be a completely different story if you were going about it in a happy-go-lucky manner, light and airy about it all despite the stress and the challenges. Everybody would want to work with you. And even the universe would conspire on your side to make things happen. You commonly hear about The Pursuit of Happiness. I’m inviting you here to look at life from a different angle. The Happiness of the Pursuit! That’s when the universe knows you are ready to make things happen in your life. This is when doors start to magically open for you.

Without commitment, nothing happens. As soon as you commit to a big dream and really go after it, your subconscious creative mind will come up with great ideas on how to make it happen. You’ll start attracting the people, resources, and opportunities you need into your life to make your dream come true. Big dreams not only inspire you, but they also compel others to want to play big, too. So again make sure you are surrounded by people who like to play in the same awesomeness circles you want to be a part of.

Remember that when you set a goal, you can reach it in 5 days, in 50 days, or in two decades. Along that path, how are you going to do what you need to do and who are you being? So there is that balance between being and doing and it’s so important to maintain that balance. Most of us forget about the being. I will give you a very good example. Parents are so focused on their kids. They want to nurture them, send them to the best schools, they want to spend money on them, pamper them, make them the best at anything and everything…but they are forgetting about the How.

How do you do your parenting? Who are you as a parent? Every single morning for most parents and their kids is such a stressful experience. Every kid out there will tell you how much they hate that stressful time at home getting ready to go to school. So we charge our kids with that negative energy in the morning and then let them loose in the school. For 12 years. Then they grow up emotionally unstable adults who don’t know how to self-manage and self-soothe. And then schools have to deal with that and then the future wives have to deal with that, and future bosses and
partners, employees and etc.

How we do life… is something we need to be very mindful of. Because whether you are aware of it or not, you leave an impact. And that impact can be negative or positive.

Keep your laser-sharp focus on the goal, but you need to enjoy the process because that’s the secret sauce of a happy life.

The other part of How is when you get a calendar or an agenda of some sort, and you start planning by year, by month, by week, and by day. However you prefer to plan go for it, but it needs to be written down. Think about this and give it a shot. It can take you a couple of hours to a couple of weeks to get all this sorted out. Then you are all set…and let your true potential manifest.

There will be a lot more on how to do all this, coming up with a new program that I am preparing for you. You are more than welcome to join my private Facebook group. Inside the group is a community of beyoutiful people who are committed to living their best lives and to changing the world along the way. We all want to serve. Whether you are conscious of it or not. We want to know whether is it what we are doing, (the answer to that first question), has an impact on somebody else, whether it’s our kids, our community, or the world at large. Trust me that’s one of the basic psychological needs we need to meet to live a happy life.

I have promised you an ebook. It’s a lovely little book called ‘“Kiss Your Comfort Zone Goodbye”. Click here to grab your free copy. You could really read through it all in one day. However, if you take it across the span of 5 days as I have sectioned it out AND do the exercises, (don’t skimp on the exercises) then you will get the most benefit from it. Self-help books don’t help unless you do the work.

You are more than welcome to share with me whatever difficulty you may be facing as you go through the book and I will be more than happy to help you with that. It’s a lovely book called. When you are enjoying what are you doing, that’s when you can say “I love what I do and I do what I love”. And I’m here to help you find a life you are passionate about. Not just a happy life, a life that you are actually in love with. When you wake up in the morning you say “damn, I get to do, yet another day of the same thing!” versus “oh shoot, now I have to go to the same shitty job or deal with the same shitty people blah, blah, blah”. You have the power to change your life.

Ask smart questions, and take the time to get the answers. This is what living POWERED BY PASSION looks like. You know what you want, you know exactly why you want it and you have a kick-ass plan to get there. Own it and cheer yourself on at the milestones no matter how small.
